Thank you for your interest in the 2015 Summer Recreation Program sponsored by the Organization of Young Scholars, or OYS. This is to inform you of the basic information in order to get your child(ren) registered. Once registered, you will receive more information in the completed Participant Handbook with the daily schedule. There are only 50 spots available this year, with participants taken on a first come first served basis after your registration fee is paid. Final date for registration is June 15, 2015, or until all 50 spaces are filled.
Participants : Children Grades - 1 - 6
When: Monday – Friday, June 20nd through July 29; 8am – 4pm, 7:30a.m. bus pick-up at normal school route pick-up location.
Where: Breakfast and Lunch at SWCC dining hall;
TISD sports camps (optional) – Terrell High School Complex Center, Football Practice fields, and Ben Gill Park soccer fields;
Other activities - Terrell Bowling Alley, Hometown Cinema (Tanger Mall), Terrell Swimming Pool and Terrell Public Library.
What: Activities include: TISD Sports Camps; bowling, art and cultural lessons; weekly banking and savings workshops; getting to know public service officers – Terrell police, firemen, and EMTs; weekly participation in the Summer Reading Program at the Terrell Public Library; summer movie camps at Hometown Cinema and swimming at Terrell Pool;
Planned Field trips (addition fee and times TBA) –
Cost: Registration fee: $25.00 per participant, *$35 total registration if the participant will attend two optional TISD sports camps Weekly fee: $50.00 per participant due each Friday before the participating week (Includes all activities except field trips). Note: If a participant misses two weeks s/he is no longer guaranteed a spot. Participants with perfect attendance may qualify for discounted or FREE field trips (details TBA). *Program participants are being offered a special rate of $10 to attend any two TISD sports camps. This is an optional fee for those who wish to participate.
